Hello!

WOW, it’s been over a month since I wrote! I truly didn’t realize it had been that long, even though I had been thinking about writing again.

SO YES, I got my schedule at work on a Sunday and the next day, Monday morning, it had been changed. A week in, my schedule changed again. About 3 weeks later, I am back to the schedule I got that Sunday night, LOL. The life of working in education. 😉

How have you all been? Life was a little crazy for a bit, like always. It’s never boring, and I call the “downtime” the lulls between the storms.

My allergies have kicked my butt this weekend! OMG, it started on Friday, and THANK GOD for allergy meds! I guess it’s that time of year, starting a bit early I think, but something set off my histamines.

I’m currently sitting at the car dealership getting my car serviced, LOF, then pay to get a new cabin filter (I know, I know) and need to get a new rear windshield wiper. THAT I’ll do myself.

I need to earn some extra money, anyone have any ideas? I’ve applied at a few different places, but I’m always looking and thinking. Let me know what you think.

I’m going to close for now, I know it’s short for being over a month since I wrote. I will try and do better, even it means posting something from any social media to share.

Take care, all!

School is BACK in Session

Which means, apparently, that the gossip mill is in full force.

We had half day on Wednesday. It was a tough day because of my assignment.

Thursday comes around, first full day, and I get called to the office, just to be told my assignment with a student is changing. That’s fine, I already suspected it would.

Friday, TGIF. I dropped my stuff off in a class who’s Teacher and I have worked together, then I went and worked my morning supervision shift. After that, I walked back to the class, gathered my things and went to the class of a teacher I told I would help, however she told me she told me she has no first period.

I told her I would be back, I’d go to another classroom of a teacher I had also told I would help out. Turns out that teacher doesn’t have a first period. LOL. I then walked to the front office and asked my boss’s secretary if she had anything for me to do. My boss’s secretary said, “hey, I have a question for you, and you don’t have to answer me if you don’t want to.” I asked, what is it?” She asked, “are you getting OT hours from (teachers name)?” I was dumbfounded. She went on to say that someone came up to her and told her that I was getting OT hours from a particular teacher. I just chuckled and said NO, but maybe I should asked since I’m already being accused of something that’s not even happening. What the heck? It’s ONLY the second full day of school and this gossip stuff is already starting? “ She said “I know, someone told me and I thought I would ask. “ I repeated myself and said no, but I may send said teacher an email to inquire about this alleged OT because I need OT. “ LOL.

After THAT salacious convo, I spoke with my VP who told me to ask the attendance office if they needed help. So I helped there for a bit. I was just starting to do some filing and my boss’s secretary found me and said my boss needed help out at supervision and to please go find her. I finally did, and she said no,. She asked if I was scheduled to do morning supervision and I said no, just before school supervision. She said, “oh, ok, well, no. I needed someone for advisory but we are almost done, it’s going to be break time so we’re fine, but thank you for being so willing to help.”

It was going to be snack, so I grabbed my snack and went to the classroom I would be in the rest of the day. , for the most part. I did have to cover for another aid who went on their 15 minute break, after snack, but that was it.

It was a very busy, interesting day. Come Monday, i have to go talk to my boss’s secretary after my morning supervision shift. She sent me a text after work asking me to go see her at 08:30am Monday morning. For what? Could be about more gossip she’s heard, could be about another assignment she might have for me, who knows…. I’ll find out then.

Until then, my plan is to have a productive weekend, even though I am tired, LOL.

Thanks for reading! Have a great day!

Cleaning Out Photos

I’m cleaning out photos in my phone. There are a LOT! I’m putting recipes in my notes, deleting photos that aren’t that good, and this screenshot popped up.

I remember long ago when Keith’s ex told him that she does tell the kids to call him, “you know, maybe its a good time to call your dad,” and how they always said, “well do it later….” “they get so revved up in what their doing.” She wanted Keith to know she “does try” and didnt want him to think she didnt. He never believed her. 11/05 “Later” became “too late.” Literally. Too late for anymore phone calls, for any possible reconciliations, for anything.

While this picture took me to this memory, it holds true for all of us.

Please be mindful. ❤️

Ok…

It’s been a couple of weeks since I wrote a blog. Who knew life with a Grandbaby can be so busy!! LOL

My sweet granddaughter is a little more than 13 months old now and she is HILARIOUS! She keeps me on my toes and makes me laugh every day!

This morning when I saw her, I had my glasses on and that is something she isn’t used to seeing me with so she was not happy when she saw me. When I took them off. She stopped using and then came to me. How funny (not funny HA HA) that something like that would upset her. I guess in her mind I was not her Nana, until I was again when I took my glasses off.

It’s the same for my son. She’s getting used to him and his facial hair, she’s not of that, but she REALLY doesn’t like hats. When he has his on, she’s almost afraid of him. My daughter said she doesn’t like when her Daddy wears a hat either. I wonder why that is. She doesn’t mind wearing them or headbands, but doesn’t like others wearing hats, LOL.

Summer school, or ESY, (Extended School Year) ended on 7/18, so I’ve been on vacation since. I want to take a trip (to WA State) but not sure I can swing it. Flying would be so convenient but scary nowadays, and driving is a 16- 24 hours. We’ll see what happens. My sis and her family live there.

Anyway, I hope you all are doing amazing and life is treating well!

I’m going to close for now, and will write again soon!

Favorite Games

What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?

I LOVE The Sims Free play. I don’t play it very often because it’s so time consuming but it’s fun when I do.

My favorite games growing up were the Game of Life and Monopoly. I also loved Clue.

I love playing Go Fish in card games, as well as Solitaire, War and Slap Jack.

Preference

Dogs or cats?

I prefer cats, but I like dogs too. We have a Belgian Malinois/shepherd mix and while she drives me crazy, she’s a cute, sweet dog. She’s actually my daughter’s dog.

We have a cat, she’s just over 13 yrs old and once she passes, I won’t get another pet.

Sleep

What time do you go to bed and wake up currently?

Well, since I ride the school bus in the morning, currently, I wake up at 4:30am. I give myself time to have breakfast, shower, do whatever I can in the morning, then get to the transportation yard before 7am when our bus leaves. I usually try to go to bed by 9pm, sometimes I make it, sometimes I don’t, LOL.

On weekends, it’s a free for all until Sunday night.

The Balance

How do you balance work and home life?

I work at a high school as a para-professional. 99% of the time, I don’t bring work home with me, though there may be a time or two where something affected me and I can’t help but bring it home to journal or vent.

When I get home, it’s all about needing an hour to decompress, as I call it. Go to my room, a quiet place, and just chill. Then, I go and hangout with my baby granddaughter before her daddy gets there and after he leaves so my daughter can continue to do what she needs to do.

I’ll text my fiancé or call him to see how he is doing even though I will send him a text during my break or lunch.

Around 8pm, I start doing what I need to do to get ready for the next day and start all over again.

Great question!
